DO YOU SUFFER FROM RED, ITCHY, PAINFUL DRY EYES?

WE CAN HELP!

OUR NEW TREATMENT

We are excited to be one of the first private practices in Oklahoma to offer a new dry eye treatment. MiBoFlo technology uses soothing heat and targeted pressure to clean out clogged oil glands in the eyelid, leading to healthier tears and relief from dryness for those who suffer from evaporative dry eye.

WHAT TO EXPECT

MiBo is a comfortable, relaxing, spa-like treatment that takes less than 15 minutes per eye. Our ocular hygienist will place a cool gel on your eyelid. This gel will cushion a special heat probe during your ocular massage. Your eyes will be closed during the procedure, and nothing will touch your eyeball, only your eyelid. This treatment is pain-free and relaxing; you may even fall asleep during the procedure!

WHAT IS A TEAR MADE OF

Tears are made up of three layers: an oil layer, a water layer, and a mucin layer.

Each layer plays an important role in the comfort of your eyes and vision.

The oil layer is the outermost layer. Its purpose is to seal the tear and protect it against evaporation.

The water layer (also called aqueous) is the middle layer. Its purpose is to lubricate the eye and keep the front surface of your eye smooth and clean by washing away debris and bacteria.

The mucin layer is the innermost layer. It is a mucus-like substance. Its main purpose is to stick the tear to the front of your eye.

WHAT IS EVAPORATIVE DRY EYE

Evaporative Dry Eye is a chronic, progressive disease that occurs due to an insufficient oil layer in the tear film. If there isn't enough oil, or the oil is unhealthy, the water layer will evaporate faster than it should. When this happens the eye loses moisture and feels dry and irritated. Vision may also become blurry.

Evaporative Dry Eye is typically caused by the oil glands in the eyelids becoming clogged. MiBo uses heat to unclog these glands and help restore the tear film back to its healthy balance.
