OPTOMAP RETINAL EXAM

Premier Eyecare is proud to offer some of the most advanced eyecare technology available. Optomap®, which has been featured on Dr. Oz, produces an image of your retina, which is as unique as your fingerprint. This provides your doctors with a wide view to examine the health of your retina. We are proud to have this instrument at our office. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to receive this helpful and valuable test as part of your routine eye exam; it is fast, easy, and comfortable.

Since most eye disease is painless, many eye problems can develop without you being aware of it. Many times, you may not even notice any change in your sight. But, diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears or detachments, and other health problems, such as diabetes and high blood pressure may be detected with a thorough exam of the retina aided by the Optomap®.

CONTACT LENS

If it has been several years since you have tried contact lenses, you may want to give them another chance! Advances in technology have greatly improved contact lens comfort and wearability for patients with astigmatism, dryness, and presbyopia.

The most exciting area in contact lens improvements is in multifocal contact lenses that allow you to see far AND near without glasses. There are also new single-use contacts (throw away each night) that are a great new option for those with dry eyes and for pediatric patients. Ask us about options for daily, weekly and monthly contact lenses.

Our Contact Lens Evaluation includes a thorough evaluation of the health of the cornea (front surface of the eye), as well as opportunities to try different lens types. Our doctors make sure that your contact lenses are not only clear and comfortable, but will keep your eyes healthy for years to come! Our professionally-trained technician will spend as much time as you need teaching you how to insert and remove your contact lenses if you are a first time wearer.

RED EYE

Our office provides services for all types of red eye-- eye infections, eye injuries, and eye allergies. If you have an eye infection or eye injury, our staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as quickly as possible. In most cases, we are able to bill your medical insurance for red eye office visits.

State of the art microscopes allow us to examine the front surface of the eye for infection or injury; these specialized tools allow us to provide red eye diagnosis and treatment in a more efficient and accurate manner than an emergency room or primary care physician's office that does not have access to this type of instrument.

If you have itchy, watery eyes be aware that the seasonal or year-round allergies can be easily treated, improving your quality of life in the process. Prescription eye allergy drops are available that provide much greater relief than over-the-counter eye drops, or even prescription allergy pills. Again, in most cases we are able to bill your medical insurance for eye allergy office visits.

OPTICAL

We have the perfect glasses for you! Our patients tell us that we have so many great options, that it is difficult to choose! We carry many designer brands for both adults and kids. We also offer a value line that is affordable without compromising quality. Our professionally-trained optician will help you select the best frame for your face shape and for your prescription needs.

If you need specialty eyewear such as sports goggles, swim goggles, or safety glasses, we can provide them with or without prescription power.

We offer free adjustments and repairs, on a walk-in basis, at any time even if the frame was not bought from our office.

Have vision insurance, but don't need prescription glasses? Many vision insurance plans provide sunglasses in their covered benefits. Our staff can help you find out if this benefit is offered by your insurance company.

InfantSEE®

Parents may be surprised to learn that vision screeners performed at the pediatrician’s office are designed only to catch gross vision abnormalities and disease. Even if no eye or vision problems are found during the screener or are apparent to the parent, the American Optometric Association recommends scheduling your baby's first eye assessment at 6 months of age.

Things that the Optometrist will test for include:

  • excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or
  • astigmatism
  • eye movement ability
  • eye alignment
  • eye health problems

InfantSEE®, developed by the American Optometric Association and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc., is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life. We feel so strongly about the importance of healthy vision that we have elected to participate in the program and provide a no-cost comprehensive infant eye and vision assessment within the first year of life. Vision development and eye health problems are easier to correct if treatment begins early.

From Oakley and RayBan to Coach and Tori Burch, you can find the sunglasses that give you the comfort you want, the ultra-violet protection your eyes need, and the look you love. Most of our sunglasses can be made either with or without prescription power.
